I am a Calgary, Alberta, Canada based writer, journalist, and communications professional, and I feel fortunate that I am able to pursue my passion. I was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and I have two degrees, both from the University of Calgary: a Bachelor of Commerce in Management Information Systems (2005), and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies, With Distinction (2010). I worked in IT in 2007, and decided to leave that industry to pursue my passion of writing, journalism, and communications. For the first two years after I finished my second degree, I volunteered as a reporter with CJSW and The Gauntlet, which are a radio station and newspaper, respectively, that are located on the University of Calgary’s main campus, as well as a blogger for the Ismaili Soccer League. After using these volunteer experiences to help further refine my writing skills, I then worked as a freelance journalist for various newspapers in Southern Alberta, while at the same time beginning my career as an author. I freelanced until May 2013, when I decided to focus more on writing books and building my photography business, which officially launched in 2015. I also had attempted to launch a database development and consulting business at about the same time that I finished freelancing, but I decided to end it a year later because I just enjoyed writing and photography way too much to go back into something IT-related.
