Photography Credit Card Payment Update

As all of you are already aware, when my photography business gets up and running, I will be accepting credit card payments.  However, now the payments will no longer only be accepted via the invoices I send through my accounting software (by the way, I’m changing my accounting software.  More on that in the next post).  I now have an Android Tablet and a Square Reader, meaning that I can accept credit card payments in person.  That means that if you or someone you know wants to book me as your photographer for your wedding, event, or session, and you prefer to pay for your retainer fees or the remaining balance owed in person, you just need to tell me, and I’ll show up with my tablet, Square Reader, and stylus, and the payment will get processed that way.  The reason for me having a stylus is because in order to accept payments, I’ll need your signature, and the stylus is easier and simpler for the purpose of signing on a touchscreen (as all of you with tablets already know).  Of course, if you decide to book me as your photographer when we initially meet, and you don’t have your cheque book or enough cash with you, I’ll have my tablet, Square Reader, and stylus with me anyway, so you don’t have to panic.

But, there is a caveat.  I’ll only accept in-person payments for people and businesses located in the Calgary area, including a driving radius that contains Cochrane, High River, Strathmore, and Airdrie.  Otherwise, if you or someone you know lives outside of that area, and you want to pay me via credit card, then those payments will only be accepted via the invoices sent.  Also, if I happen to be coming to your home or place of business in order to process the credit card payment, I’d really appreciate it if you allowed me to log in to your wifi (if you have such a connection) so that the payment gets processed right away, instead of me having to wait until I get home.  It also guarantees that you get your payment receipt right away, rather than having to wait a while for it.

I’d really appreciate it if you would forward this post to everyone you know, and help me out in getting this photography business off the ground.
